Out With The Old And In With The New

Hmm I was quite sad to see the old work horse go but after months of hub looking and commenting on new motors I caved in.

So bye bye Subaru Forester.

And hello to Renault Megane.

This beauty has a funny card that you put in it to be able to press the start button to get the engine going. Drives so quietly, except over/in potholes. But the brakes, OMG, I almost put myself through the windscreen. Got to get used to those. Not too sure of the leather interior though, I think I am going to get some seat covers.
I drove it home at lunch time with the roof down but, oh my, it was 35 (almost 100) and even with the air con blasting I ws sweating. So I will stick to the roof down on 20'ish days.

It's Getting Near

It's now that I start to panic. I need to get everything off to the UK. Two are on the way and I need to get a third out next week. So the frantic shopping has almost finished for me and once this last package is out of the way I can concentrate on my husband and son (who just happens to be 18 tomorrow).

Anyway I thought I would help some of you guys out. This year seems to be hard, financially, for a lot of us. If you cannot afford a present go that extra bit with a handmade card which has been made with joy and love by the creator.
I always like to check out Southernscraps for her imaginative cards, totes, tags and now Christmas ornaments.

Gift Idea #7

Thought I would have a short break from blogging about my holiday and pop another idea in for the oncoming holiday season.

I have now listed a few items on my new website beadsmeonline. Take a peek.

These are my favorites from the necklace section:

And don't forget you need those special cards. Take a look at the cards by Southernscraps and order before it's too late.

More ideas to come.

New "Pleasure of Poppy"

Firstly I would like to thank all those that commented on my last post "The Lemon Detox Diet".

It's very reassuring what others think but you know us women - once we get it into our heads we are fat then we ARE fat. Thank you very much for all the compliments.

Anyway I have been drowning my sorrows on a new set for my new website, which has got a few items on it now - http://beadsmeonline.com/

Made from poppy jasper and teamed with Swarovski crystals and multi faceted czech glass it makes a winning combination.

Had to add this gorgeous handmade holiday card to this post by Southernscraps. Just shows that there is not long to go before the holiday season begins.

On The Pond - Bracelet, Bangle

If I have the time I love to sit and practice wire wrapping. After many attempts, cut fingers and wasted silver wire I think I have just about got it.
Here is a newbie for me with a fun froggy lampwork. You can see further details in my Etsy store and a slightly different design on my website.

I think if you have a gift in mind it would go great with Southernscraps "thinking of you" card.

Such a fun gift and a sentimental card to go with it.

Gift Idea #6

I have chosen today a butterfly happiness card from Southerscraps of Etsy amd my gorgeous necklace named after a fellow JET member Silvercanyons.
Even with the highest cost of shipping, these items together are under $35.00. What a deal, a beautiful card and gorgeous necklace.
On the other hand you could just browse around our stores for some fantastic goodies.

All you have to do is look at the array of papercraft items in Southernscraps Etsy store . Her main focus is cards, scrapbooks, notecards and gift tags but there is much more. Just check out her Flickr too. If you see something you like and you want the style, wording or colour changed just send a convo I am sure she will help.

Just a few samples of Southernscraps work to wet your appetite.

Gift Idea #3

I so enjoy looking through Southernscraps goodies in her Etsy store. I have found another beautiful card which would go great with one of my items.

Doesn't this card look gorgeous with the ribbon and buckle on it which is actually made from a soda can tab. How original and a great way to recycle.

Below is my creation called "Memories of Grandma" bracelet. Made from lampwork beads, Swarovski crystals, Czech glass and Indian silver beads. Why "Memories of grandma"? I don't really know but as soon as this design was put together it reminded me of her. Maybe she had something similar or was she looking over me and admiring this one. I would love to know!
