Well the main part of the skirt is all together and actually looks like a skirt now.
For completion I need to do the waistband, put a hem on and, the worst of all, put a zip in. Why, oh why, do zips hate me so much. They never stay in the right place or the material moves. I have to hand sew the zip in first then machine stitch it. Can someone invent iron on zips LOL.
I know all you guys want a fashion show on completion but I have realised I don't have anything to go with it. Topless fashion show??? Nope!

That looks fantastic Mandy! So I vote you show us the skirt - accompanied by an artfully placed tray of champagne! hehe :)
It looks wonderful! Have you ever tried a double side wash away tape for putting in a zipper? It works really well. I'm sure somewhere in Oz has it. at Nancy's Notions- http://tiny.cc/7gMpM
It looks unreal Mandy, you must be feeling very proud.
Awesome skirt!
Dont get me started on zips!!:P
And im with Nat, so ure outvoted already! Wanna see!
Looking good Mandy :) and oh yes please to an iron on zip!!
Ooh what Nat said!
With the zip, try using the longest stitch on your machine (so it's easy to unpick if you make a mistake) and then go over it again with a regular stitch.
So cute! I love it. Do what Penny said. It means you can make plenty of mistakes first.
Looks Awesome! Great Job!
LOL. Your skirt looks lovely. Can't wait until you find something to wear with it so we can see you model it. doing the zipper was always the worse for me, too.
This is really nice. Almost makes me want to sew something!
What a gorgeous skirt! Congrats it looks wonderful!
Just throw on a white tank top and show that beautiful skirt, already! :)
Great skirt, zips hate me too. I even did a class on zips only to discover I really suck at them.

That's a pretty skirt! Try basting (long stitches on your machine) the zipper in to secure it. Then sew it in using a regular stitch. Remove basting stitches.
very pretty skirt!
That's so cute! I like the printed material you used for the pleats.
Super cute.
I love this!!!
