This Is Not Funny!!

Only 2 weeks ago we had the Huntsman in our mailbox. Now we get home from work, dish up our yummy chinese and this one is sitting on the kitchen ledge. Yes! IN MY HOUSE. This is soooo not funny any more.Barry put a teaspoon gingerly next to it so you could see the size. Just look at the size of it and it's hairy legs.
I actually took about 10 photos of this spider and only 2 came out not blurred. OMG I could see it looking at me and was scared it would jump on me.

Mandy...I used to live in an old house surrounded by bush and farms. These guys were everywhere. I used to quiver and shake and the kids would scream when we saw one. After a couple of years though we didn't even bat an eyelid...they really are quite good at getting rid of a lot of other bitey things!
But the kitchen bench is a bit rude!!!!

Very cheeky, but at least it was out in the open.
I hate them when they are in the car.

It wants your chinese... or to suck your blood... whateverit will take either of the two options:)

Eeewwww!!! I'm sooo scared of spiders. I don't know what I would have done! There was one on the car (outside luckily) on my way to the Blue Mountains the other day, and my colleague kept laughing at me, because every time it moved, I squealed like a girl!!! Glad it was you and not me!!!

Yuck! I don't mind spiders being around because I know they get rid of other bugs, which I also do not like in my house! But I really don't want to see them! (Maybe you should get a cat.... my cats would eat it!)

OMG! That thing is worse looking now than in the last post, the mailbox thing was enough for me, but now it's in the kitchen??

I seriously don't think I could live there if they had spiders this big! I am so petrified of spiders, and we only have smaller ones (and not hairy) here in Massachusetts.

I'm proud of you for getting the photos though, I couldn't have done it!

Take care,
Kat

EGAD! Is that thing real??!! I'd have to move out of the house if I made eye contact with one of those guys.

Oh that is way too creepy for me, can they run fast?

Spiders, ech, try living in my neck of the woods where I find 3-4 scorpions per month and they run after you feet to sting you with wicked tails. Most are as big if not bigger than that spider.

I am not even a person who is usually scared of spiders but that one scares me to death! haha

Awww....he's kind of cute! Very impressive, even! I guess I'm the only one that likes spiders!
Don't hurt him, though...
Hopefully you can get him out of your house and back into the yard. ;)

I don't know that spider. Where in the world are you?

EEEWWWWWWWWWW! I'd be calling the exterminator PRONTO! I can deal with bugs and spiders outdoors, I don't like them, but I can deal with them. Once their in the house it's a whole new ball game!

OMG!!!! I would move!!!! :-) after having lost my voice from all the screaming... and I don't mind spiders, as long as they are not hairy! :-)

We knew when we moved to Australia that we will be in for a shock from their critters.
These Huntsman are not supposed to be poisonous but I have been told that a bite from one feels as though you have been hit by a hammer.

I don't do spiders and the size of that one would surely have me contemplating a move.

That is exactly one of the things I am not looking forward to when we move to Australia!

oh my life I'm scared just looking at the photo's, i would probably wet my pants if it was in our house! If it was in our house though I wonder if hubby would be man enough to deal with it or make me do it as usual.hmmm

Abi said...

Oh... My.. Just... Oh.

Thank goodness I live in the UK. Our spiders don't tend to get anywhere near that big! I'd have wet myself!

Poisonous or not is of no consequence to me. So telling me "it can't hurt you" (as sooo many people do) is absolutely meaningless to me. I don't care whether it can hurt me or not. Just get it away from me!!! Now!!! (Yeh, I know, I have a phobia and I need to deal with it. - but while there is someone to kill that spider for me, I can't bring myself to face my fears!

Don't send a cat after it like someone suggested... I think that thing would eat my cats!

I would move. IMMEDIATELY. Maybe I'd send someone back for my stuff. That gives me the heebie jeebies... I get freaked out enough by the (comparatively) TINY garden-variety spiders that show up in my apartment.
