It's Been A While

It's been a little longer than expected since my last post but having my daughter here for a few weeks has been the best.

Worst part of it is that the 2 weeks she was here just flew by and now she is back in the UK.Whilst she was here we just had to visit Taronga Zoo in Sydney. Over the last few months there have been quite a few births so I was really looking forward to going there.

My favourite just had to be the baby elephant which at first, by specialists, was announced dead inside it's Mum but shocked the community by being alive and well when born.
What a beautiful day we had. All the family was together.
We even got a chance to feed the giraffes.

Say Hello To Missy

Well we decided to get another Spaniel. This time a Welsh Springer Spaniel.

Tango (Rough Collie) is now 14 and the vets are not sure he will see another Winter. Poor Toby (Cocker Spaniel) will have no other doggy to play with.

Missy was born on 3rd February 2010 and the wonderful breeder from Lornelane updated us every week on all the puppies.
Easter Friday we picked up our lovely little Missy and brought her home. She is definitely a little Miss. Poor Tango is having his tail chewed but throw her pink piggy and she is satisfied to give that a chew for a while. We have found that she loves playing ball but the ball is too big for her to actually put it in her mouth.
Oh and on her first day she gave us a heart attach by walking over the pool cover.This is Missy being introduced to the boys.

Playing With Glass

What have I been up to lately. Well the kiln has been hotting up and glass has been cooking.

The last few months have had some really hot weekends so I have not really wanted to take the risk of getting the kiln on. This weekend I did.

I have so neglected my handmade radical glass store and thought I better get some new creations on board.

This time I had a play with some 22k gold decals in flowers and butterflies. Last time I tried these the kiln got to hot and the gold just burnt away.

Well I kept a good eye on the temperature this time and please with how the glass fused together.

A Briolette Or Two?

Well I did agree not to buy anymore beads for a few months. I have so many all my storage units are full and there are bags and boxes all over the spare bed.

By mid February I did very well. Only buying the necessary findings.

Then it went wrong. I couldn't stop looking in TexasBeadz store on Etsy. I just fell in love with all her briolettes and was dying to get practicing on my wire wrapping. And the great thing about her store is that you can buy 2 briolettes and not a whole strand. How cool is that.Can I say I have still not bought any beads, these were briolettes, not beads. Oh boy!
I think I have completed 3 more pairs of handmade earrings and probably have 2 more sets of briolettes to play.
